Once there, you will take 2 cablecars for your viewing of the Aiguille du Midi (3842), then you will be able to touch the snow and the ice (which you can also do in the summer), and watch the climbers and the skiers. There are terraces, a flight of stairs, a cafe, a souvenir shop, toilets- all in a labyrinth of tunnels carved in granite that has existed for over 50 years. A technological feat for you to gain access to a very high altitude and the most celebrated mountainous landscapes in Europe. The Montenvers train will transport you for 20 minutes through the pine forests to reach the station of the Mer de Glace(Longuest glacier in France). Once there, you will have the opportunity, without extra charge, of visiting the Grotte de Glace (the ice Grotto) that the "grottus" cut every year.
